Tinder Chronicles will make you Vampurrrr!

I've read other stories by this author, and I haven't been disappointed yet. That won't be changing today! She changes pace with this series, shifting into the supernatural. One of my favorite features in an Alexa Land book, is her sense of humor. She creates characters and scenes that truly crack me up. While that still holds true here, the veneer is a little darker. The humor fits the characters completely. This story is a little darker, a little grittier than some of the other stories I've read by her.
In my opinion it works to make this story that much better. Definitely one of my new favorite vampire stories.
I think almost everyone has seen, read, or had a dream or two about vampires. Even though sinister, there is definitely something sexy about this immortal monster. Something so intimate in the way they feed. Something so dark and dangerous, strong and fast. Yet they also have such inherent weaknesses and vulnerabilities. The author catches all these nuances in this story.
Our main character is a Hunter. Born into a family that basically had children to continue the war.
Tinder has issues... That's putting it lightly. He's not huge and hulking. He's not immortal. He's not perfect. Glass is hard, but it would shatter if that's all Tinder was. He is more like steel. Tempered by fire into a weapon that gets banged around and keeps fighting. His personality, his choices along the way, and the way he handles those choices create such an interesting character. He really thinks he has it all figured out, until Bane shows up...
What can I say about Bane? First of all, YUM. This gorgeous vamp with a British accent is just beyond sexy. He's old, and really powerful. He's also falling for a certain stubborn, adorable Hunter.
The chemistry between these two characters starts off with a bang. Well actually its a stake. I think that's one of the reasons I love this story, because Alexa didn't pull punches. She really made these guys fierce. The love scenes are...OMFG.
Really though, its HOT. Rough, dark, and sexy! Just like the rest of the story. I have only one complaint about this series. I WANT MORE! Haha no really it's a great read folks, and I am truly hoping we can see more books like this from this great author! I received this book in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

A Joyous Read

Wait, it's a book about vampires, half-werewoves, warlocks and spells... everything I don't like in fiction. That all seems so silly, so irrelevant, so I don't know...fantastical. Yet...
Yet I absolutely adored this 3-volume book. I had a rollicking good time reading it, laughed out loud, teared up a time or two, didn't buy a word of it, but didn't care. The only reason I bought this book was because it was written by Alexa Land, and if you haven't read Skye Blue, you may not already know what a brilliant and hysterically funny writer this talented author is.
And I'm so glad I did read it. I'm sitting here with a big grin on my face, just having finished The Tinder Chronicles in a single sitting, happy as hell that I read it, my whole day somewhat brighter and more hopeful for it.
No one does humor as well as Ms. Land - at least no one whose books I've ever read. That's because her humor is not like stand-up-comedy, it's little touches of irony and charming badinage between the characters.
Just imagine one of the last full-blooded vampire Hunters (Tinder) left alone in the world, at the tender age of 21, out chasing the demons of the night, constantly getting himself in trouble and being rescued by an amazingly old and powerful vampire (Dane). What's going on here, a vampire rescuing a Hunter? Tinder knows he's supposed to hate him, but he also can't seem to seriously entertain staking him. Of course, they were meant to be together. Dane (who is also a warlock) had a dream centuries ago of Tinder as his ultimate mate for all eternity so, since he was a 6-year-old Hunter in training, has protected and funded his inamorata. Tinder, on the other hand, lives a life of reckless danger and, to be blunt, of incredible sluttiness, allowing man after man to use him, as long as there's no affection involved. As a young boy, he watched vampires rip his parents and siblings to shreds right in front of his eyes, and never expected to live even as long as he already has. He also never knew love, as he didn't really have parents, just two more pure-breed Hunters whose only desire for children was to breed their own army of vampire killers.
The book is about Tinder and Dane, born to be mortal enemies, finding the middle ground and sharing their souls with each other. Throw in Dane's brother (a half-werewolf) who's out to kill Dane, a hot young blond twink who turns out to also be a vampire, and hordes of Hunters and vamps constantly waging a war of genocide and Ms. Land has built in some pretty dramatic action while she explores the awakening of the book's lovers. She includes a reasonable amount of surprisingly hot sex scenes to drive the relationship along.
The dialogue is, in places, nothing less than wonderful, but then again, that is Ms. Land's real forte. Conversations are often seasoned with obscure Sci-Fi movie references, laugh-out-loud irony and witty wisecracks, even in the midst of great battles or mortal danger. It makes The Tinder Chronicles a wonderful, light, joyous read.
No matter what genre you prefer, don't miss The Tinder Chronicles. You'll be all the poorer for it, if you do.
Just read it, and face your day, like me, with a smile and a light heart. Thank you Ms. Alexa Land.

EXCITING, SEXY HOT AND FUN....WHAT MORE WOULD WE EXPECT FROM ALEXA LAND.

This box set was so much fun to read. I'm glad I waited for the set because I'd have been too impatient to wait for each part of the series. Ms. Land's prose is smooth and easy to read. I didn't have any of those "this doesn't sound right" or "no one would talk like that" reactions because her dialog is so good. I love Tinder and Bane and all of the supporting characters. They are written with the author's signature wry humor even though the stories keep our heroes in danger most of the time.
Even if you don't think vampires are your thing, you will love Tinder and his adventures. They are exciting, fun and sexy hot. Be sure and read the prequel "FERAL" too. It fills in the story of Nate and Nikolai, who become an integral part of the stories.
