Create Your Own Colorful Cute Animal Pictures
Whether wild, forest, woodland, grassland, farm, domestic, strange or exotic, making your own animal art is great fun.
Coloring is an activity which has long been associated with kids and it has been taken for granted that, as we grow up, we put aside our crayons or colored pencils and turn to more grown-up pursuits. However, in recent years we have increasingly witnessed this wisdom being overturned and coloring for grown-ups has become a widespread hobby.
But why has coloring for grown-ups become so popular? There are many reasons for the explosion in adult coloring, but here are just a few...
Coloring Lowers Stress And Anxiety
Psychiatrists have long known that coloring relaxes the fear center of the brain and permits your mind to get some rest. Indeed the founder of analytical psychology, Carl Jung, is known to have given his patients mandalas to color over one hundred years ago. In the hectic world we inhabit today the stress relieving properties of coloring are probably more valuable than ever.
Coloring Trains Your Brain To Focus
Staying within the lines as you color a simple black and white line drawing requires focus and, while you are concentrating on this stress-free and relaxing activity, you can forget about your worries. Coloring is a mind exercise which lets you set aside everything else for the time you spend coloring, and this is extremely important in our increasingly stressful world.
Coloring Helps In The Development Of Motor Skills And Vision
Coloring forces the two hemispheres of your brain to interact and involves the use of logic (necessary for coloring forms) and creativity (as we mix and match colors). This, in turn, brings those areas of the brain responsible for fine motor skills and vision into play, and helps in keeping these active and in developing them further. It is this aspect of coloring which is being seen more and more as particularly valuable for older individuals, as many in the medical profession believe that it can delay, or possibly even prevent, the onset of dementia.
Coloring Gives You The Opportunity To Be Social
Although you might feel that coloring ought to be a solo activity, its growing popularity is quickly turning it into a social one. Friends, families, work colleagues and others are now getting together to eat, drink and enjoy the opportunity to socialize, through their common interest in coloring books. Undoubtedly, this is a great excuse for getting together, as coloring needs only minimal concentration and can easily be done in a group setting.
Coloring Allows You To Express Yourself
When it comes to coloring there are no rules and your coloring book is just that - your coloring book. If you accidentally color the cat's hind leg green because you mistook it for part of the grass, who cares? If you feel like making the sky yellow, what does it matter? You are allowed to be as creative and experimental as you like because this is your project, and yours alone. When it comes to picking colors remember that the British-based, but American-born, artist James Whistler once famously said, "Mauve is just pink trying to be purple."
You may already be a follower of adult coloring, in which case you will already appreciate its value. This may however be a new venture for you and one that you are thinking about for any one of several different reasons. If this is a new venture for you then I urge you to give it a try. It is no accident that so many people are fired up about the world of adult coloring, so jump on board and begin enjoying the benefits for yourself today.

LIKE THE BOOKS, NOT THE PUBLISHER
By digipho
UPDATE: As always, a great coloring book. BUT I could never download the coloring book. It would just take me to the WMC PUBLISHING page. That was where I happened to punch the "NEWS" button, where I got a political commentary blaming President Obama for the rise in coloring books because of our stress ...
"We live in a hectic world in which the demands on our time grow with each passing year. We also live in increasingly dangerous times, in which political correctness dominates and is leading us into a world that is becoming more dangerous with each passing day. This you might argue is nothing new and is something that has developed slowly over many years. Here, of course, you would be correct but one significant change has brought this to the forefront of all our minds in recent weeks – the loss of American dominance on the world stage..." It shows a picture of Obama next to the type.
This kind of rhetoric I do not like and will never buy any more books from this publisher.

Lots of fun!!
By J Tinder
Lots of great pictures that will be fun to color. So many of them brought different friends to mind. It will be fun to color these and give them to those friends as gifts. I really like that there are several different designs of the same animal so that I can make a set of them for a nice collage for someone to hang on their wall. For those that don't have more than one design, you can print several copies of the same design and just color each one differently and even use different mediums one each one.

By Carolyn Reiss
I have the Kindle version and downloaded a PDF so I can print whatever I want on whatever paper I choose. There are a variety of wild and domestic animals included. Some of the pictures are drawn with heavy black lines which may detract from your colors. The zebra stripes are so heavy that there is little left for the colorist. Still it is a nice variety and the cow with a floral pattern is one of my favorites.
