Comic genius

I don't laugh all that easily, but this book was just fun to read. Many times I laughed out loud. Several times I laughed until I cried. The plot at times verges on slapstick, but the real humor is in the little realistic details of the characters' personalities and the thoughts in their heads. The author simply has a hilarious way of expressing things. It was just the book to lift my spirits after the depressing one I read about a little boy growing up homeless in pre-revolutionary Iran. Sometimes you don't want a serious book. You want to relax. On the other hand, you don't want to read something stupid. Mad Love is intelligently funny, but not so intelligent that you have to think too hard. This was my first Nick Spalding book. It won't be the last.

Witty, intelligent and very very funny.

I am not a big fan of humor or comedy genre books but this one was a big exception. I love everything about it and enjoyed it a lot. The three main characters Adam Holborne, Jessica Madison and Cassie McFlasterton are just hilarious. The situations and the events the characters go through are pathetically funny.

The story is basically about this dating online website run by Cassie NcFlasterton which matches two persons together through an algorithm by computer, but the catch is that these strangers have to get married immediately in exchange of some benefits like a flat and other things. How can two total strangers cope with this situation? And were they really serious when they filled the application in the first place? That you need to read to know.
If this book did not make you laugh loudly, the least it will ensure there is a constant smile on your face while reading it. Reading this book is very much recommended specially if you need to read something light, funny but that is still filled with emotions.

We need more laughter.

I'm crazy about Nick Spalding's zany, fun, devil-may-care hilarity. The world has become a dark, scary, unhealthy place - any news report, any day of the week, every week, will justify that statement. Which is why we need more laughter. And Nick Spalding provides it - very well. Writing comedy is TOUGH, the hardest kind of writing there is.Hats off to Nick for keeping us healthier. Laughter is exercise for the organs. There are clubs devoted to either telling jokes or just sitting there laughing b/c it's contagious and so necessary - especially when everything surrounding us is doom, gloom - "You better," and "You have to, - or else." Thank God for all those who work so hard to bring much needed laughter into a time in history that is so dark.

About the Author

Robert W. Ottman , deceased, an internationally renowned music theorist, was an important contributor to Music Theory education. He wrote eight textbooks and co-authored four others, all which are used to educate English-speaking students worldwide. Dr. Ottman also was a professor and chair of the Music Theory Department at the University of North Texas and a conductor of the Madrigal Singers. He earned both his BA and MM from Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester, NY, and his Ph.D. from what is now the University of North Texas in 1956. He was honored with the University of North Texas President's Citation for outstanding service to the university in April 2004.

Nancy Rogers is an Assistant Professor of Music Theory at Florida State University and the current Secretary of the Society for Music Theory; she is also a Faculty Reader and Consultant for the Advanced Placement Test in Music Theory. She received her Ph.D. from the Eastman School of Music, where she won both school-wide and university-wide teaching awards. Dr. Rogers' primary research interest is music cognition and its pedagogical implications, and she has presented papers at national, international, and regional conferences. Her recent publications may be found in Music Theory Online, the Journal of Music Theory Pedagogy, and Indiana Theory Review.

Great book

If you want to work on your sight singing skills this book will come in very handy.

Alot of colleges use this book in their music theory courses at least the musicianship portion that is.

This version is thicker than newer versions meaning you get more lines to practice from... downside being when an assignment is given you wont know which it really is but you can always check a neighbors and find it in this version that way.

If youre not currently enrolled in a theory/musicianship course Id say buy this version because its cost will be (most likely) greatly reduced

Much better than buying the new edition, as they are only minutely different. Buy this and save over 50 bucks because the ninth edition is just b.s.

No more Worries!!! All you need to know is right here in this book. From theory to industry applications; the book is today' Antenna Engineers best reference. Each chapter is written by an expert in the field, and when I say experts I mean REAL Experts!! The book is a collection of chapters written by the most knowledgeable people in Today's Antenna world. It is easy to read, and it includes everything from theory, formulas, design techniques, to REAL WORLD EXAMPLES.. this is the best book your money can buy. However you might want to wait for the new edition to come out, because it is coming out VERY SOON. It will include more topics on Cellular phone antennas as well as communication antennas for PCS industry.

In my opinion is this the best you can buy for your money. It is not cheap, but worth every cent of it. I call it the antenna bible, use it together with good antenna design software and understand what you design.
